Blue Collective students reaching out to you.

HARLEM, N.Y.

Students, if you read this, know that you have an opportunity to jump in and help shape the future of  The City College of New York (CCNY).

Students, staff and  faculty can pitch in and share their thoughts about what’s working and what could be better on campus. The input is needed for reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). This group reviews every facet of the college to ensure that CCNY continues to meet high standards and has the capacity to continue to grow.

Yes, we know. It does sound like a bureaucratic burden. But it has greater impact than you may think. It affects academic programs, campus resources,  and student support services including financial aid.

The Blue Collective (TBC), a student group in an Ad/PR workshop course is working to try to get students and others on campus involved. We need your input to show the accreditation board that CCNY students, faculty and staff care.  TBC teamed up with the steering committee involved in a long process of self-study work.  They report to the provost and their goal is simple: to make sure student and faculty voices are heard and their opinions help design the future of CCNY.

That’s where you come in.  During the next few weeks, students and faculty will have a number of opportunities to get involved. The Blue Collective will host an interactive pop-up event on the quad at City College on May 4th, 2026 from 12pm-2pm.The group will also appear at Lavender Fest on April 30th, 2026. It will also share  a short survey to help define what people want. The link for the survey is at the end of this post.

Your response is important. Whether it highlights what CCNY does well or points out areas for improvement, every response contributes to the bigger picture of what it means to be a part of the community.

So, please contact The Blue Collective to see what they’re  doing on campus and learn how to get involved! Follow the groups instagram page, theb.collective_ for more updates and links to the surveys. It’s a small action but one that plays a role in shaping the future of CCNY.
